Following the recent cultural and box-office hit of 'Barbenheimer' in which two highly anticipated movies were released to cinemas on the same day, it seems that this will now come as no once-in-a-lifetime anomoly as the upcoming projects from highly respected filmmakers, Robert Eggers and Jordan Peele, are due to see a same day release.
Of course, Christopher Nolan and Greta Gerwig are also two very well-respected filmmakers within the industry, so seeing something gather as much hypeas what Barbenheimer managed would be quite the feat and seems unlikely.
But the recent announcement that we will see two films released on the same day, both of which by filmmakers who are becoming more and more established with each new project, is bound to get cinemagoers excited.
We have known for a while now that Robert Eggers' next movie will come through the form as a remake to the iconic 'Nosferatu'. Eggers' version will be the second remake of the silent German expressionist horror film, with the original picture released back in 1922.
The story of 'Nosferatu' follows the protagonist Count Orlok (due to be played by Bill Skarsgard), who takes an interest in a real estate agent's wife and the interesting and intriguing tale that follows.
Although there is very little to know about the contents of this upcoming project, we are aware of the fact that the cast is very impressive. Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgard are due to star, with a supporting cast of Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin and Nicola Kidman.
On the other hand, we are still yet to hear as much as a title about Jordan Peele's upcoming project. Since his debut feature 'Get Out' was released back in 2017, the comedian-turned-filmmaker has very quickly become seen as one of the best horror directors in Hollywood in recent years.
Peele followed up 'Get Out' with recent horror projects such as 2019's 'Us' and 2022's 'Nope', both of which served as a social commentary on modern day society whilst also frightening audiences out of their seats.
The only crumb of information that movie lovers around the world have to feed on regarding Peele's next project is the fact that it is due for cinematic release on December 25th, 2024. Incidently, the same day that 'Nosferatu' is due for release.
