Scarlett Johansson Set To Star In 'Jurassic World' Reboot

Reports from within the inside of the movie industry are suggesting that Academy Award nominee, Scarlett Johansson has reportedly been offered the opportunity to star in the upcoming reboot of the 'Jurassic World' franchise.

Following the successful launch of 'Jurassic World', starring Chris Pratt and Bruce Dallas-Howard back in 2015, it has been decided that the franchise will continue under the creative overlook of Gareth Edwards, who is set to direct the next instalment.

Although the English filmmaker only has a grand total of 4 feature films to his name, within these 4 are the likes of 'Star Wars: A Rogue One Story' and the previously Academy Award nominated, 'The Creator'. So it goes without saying that Edwards is more than capable of dealing with high budget action/sci-fi productions.

Although there has been no official announcement as to whether Johansson has accepted the role offered to her, it has been reported that the actress has met with Gareth Edwards and producer, Frank Marshall, at least once. A representative for Johansson did not immediately respond to a request for comment, nor did Universal.

Johansson seems like an ideal casting for a production of this scale given her recent background in high budget action movies, thanks to her 11-year portrayal of Natasha Romanoff (a.k.a Black Widow) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actress has also proven that she is capable of generating a movie box office success outside of the MCU ever since she lead the way for 2014's 'Lucy' to a global haul of $469 million.

With production for Gareth Edwards' next 'Jurassic World' instalment set to begin production this summer, this would serve as good timing for the actress who will have wrapped on her directorial debut feature 'Eleanor The Invisible' by then, making her more than capable of handling the high-intensity shoot.
