Steve McQueen returns to the directors chair with his new film 'Blitz', a story about a young child as he helplessly and desperately wanders through the destructed streets of a war-torn London in hope of being reunited with his Mother (Saoirse Ronan).
Although the presence of this film has been common knowledge of movie lovers for a long time now, it has been a long time waiting for any kind of promotional material to be released by Apple TV+.
For a long time, the only small piece of content that fans were left to toy with was a single still image of a worried-looking Saoirse Ronan, dressed in here 1940's British attire.
However, following the recent release of the first official trailer for 'Blitz', it is clear now more than ever just what fans have a right to get excited for. It also seems as though the main storyline will revolve around debutant actor Elliot Heffernan, who plays the character of George.
Whereas it seems that Saoirse Ronan's character will be taking more of a supporting role in this case. Following early reviews of the film, it seems as though the Irish actress will have a fighting chance of bagging her fifth Academy Award nomination come the New Year, and may even be in with a chance of claiming Oscar gold.
Throughout recent decades of cinema, there have been countless attempts at telling various storylines of World War II throughout different lens. But very few delve into the story of the 'Blitz' and what the city of London suffered throughout the early 1940's.
But as the title suggests, Steve McQueen intends on doing exactly that as he microscopes into the heartbreaking story of a young Mother who desperately searches for a reuniting with her son who has found himself inadvertently caught up in the middle of the conflict that the second World War offered.
