Following the box-office success of Danny & Michael Philippou's 'Talk To Me', not only have the former YouTube duo been green-lighted by A24 to write and direct a sequel to the horror, but the pair are also set to collaborate on a completely separate project entitled 'Bring Her Back'.
Although very few creative details regarding the project are up in the air at this moment in time, one thing we do know is that British Actress and two-time Academy Award nominee, Sally Hawkins is set to lead the movie.
Fans may recognise Hawkins for her work in the Godzilla franchise from 2014 to 2019, but her most notable performance is her portrayal of Eliza Esposito in Guillermo Delm Toro's 'The Shape Of Water', which earnt the actress her second Academy Award nomination. The British performer also portrayed the Mother of a well-known and iconic chocolatier in the recent box-office hit 'Wonka'.
Last summer, 'Talk To Me' claimed the title of A24's highest-grossing horror film at the domestic box office, which garnered a global return of $92m from an initial budget of only $4.5m. So it came as no surprise when the Philippou brothers were taken on to produce a sequel to the Australian horror movie.
It is still yet to be determined whether 'Bring Her Back' will be included in A24's sales slate for the Cannes Film Festival. Additional A24 projects that are in contention for Cannes are productions such as Ari Aster's 'Eddington', Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza's 'Warfare' and Benny Safdie's 'The Smashing Machine' which will see Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson portray former UFC champion, Mark Kerr.
