It goes without saying that, as predicted, July 2023 will be one if the heaviest singular months ever for fans purchasing cinema tickets, all around the world.
Throughout July 2023, fans will be treated to a wide range of movies to choose to view. All the way from small indie films, to franchise returning icons.
The two movies with the highest predicted box office return throughout July, coming as no surprise, is Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig's Barbie.
Nolan returns to action with the latest addition to his blockbuster film catalogue, through the form of Oppenheimer. The movie itself is based on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, who was a theoretical physicist throughout the second World
War, and is more notably known as "The Father of the atomic bomb".
The film not only comes from the mind of an iconic and talented director, but also consists of an amazing cast ensemble, including names such as Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr, Rami Malek and Cillian Murphy as Mr Oppenheimer himself.
Whereas on the completely other end of the spectrum, we are also treated to Greta Gerwig's Barbie, which stars Margot Robbie with the task of portraying the iconic doll in it's first live action production.
Gerwig will be looking to add to her first two impressive directorial turns in Lady Bird and Little Women. Two films that received much praise as well as various accolades.
Much like Oppenheimer, Barbie also includes a stunning cast ensemble. None other than Ryan Gosling has the tasks of bringing the iconic character of Ken to life, who is also joined by other talented actors such as Will Ferrell, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emma Mackey, Simu Lui, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae and many more.
The list really does go on and on.
Not only are these two films too much to handle in their own rights, but both productions are released to cinemas on the same day, that being July 21st.
So it's fair to say that the cinephiles amongst us will have to clear their schedule when the 21st comes around.
You are wrong if you think that the fun ends there, in July 2023 fans of the original Indiana Jones movies have the pleasure of seeing Harrison Ford return to the big screen as the iconic action hero.
This time under the title: Indiana Jones & The Dial Of Destiny.
This particular franchise return is in the creative hands of filmmaker James Mangold, who recently directed the Academy Award winning movie, Ford Vs Ferrari.
On the back of the success of Top Gun: Maverick in the summer of 2022, we also see Tom Cruise make a short turnaround return to the action stage through the form of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.
Dead Reckoning Part One is the seventh instalment within the Mission Impossible franchise, with the first of the seven being released all the way back in 1996.
The movie will see a return of various well known characters such as Rebecca Ferguson as Isla Faust and Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis. And of course, Tom Cruise returning as the iconic Ethan Hunt.
The second chapter within the Dead Reckoning story is due to be released some time in 2024.
