A brand new original rom/com based on the American's successful moon landing back in 1969 and the controversy surrounding the event's legitimacy, also starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum as a playful and comedic protagonist duo - that's quite the tagline.
But if you thought that such a movie seemed too 'out there' to make, consider yourself incorrect as the latest addition to the filmography of Greg Berlanti has just received it's first official trailer and it is leaving movie-lovers with more than enough reasons to get excited.
Originally named 'Project Artemis', 'Fly Me To The Moon' is a new and original romance/comedy directed by Greg Berlanti, who is mostly known for his contribution to the world of DC through the form of 'The Flash', 'Arrow' and 'Supergirl'. Therefore a project like this isn't something that Berlanti has spent the most part of his career producing.
The film also stars Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson as a playful and fun pair of love interests. Tatum as Neil Armstrong, the optimistic and inspiring soon-to-be first man on the moon, and Johansson as the marketing executive, working for N.A.S.A, doing her best to come up with a contingency plan as travelling to the moon becomes less and less of a possibility.
Trailers nowadays refuse to reveal much information about a movie's storyline and tend to focus on enticing audiences via short reels or edits that can be taken out of context, but the official trailer for 'Fly Me To The Moon' does not hesitate in providing it's audience with a strong idea as to what they are in for.
Although directed by Berlanti, the film was actually written by Rose Gilroy. Who if you're wondering if you have heard of before, chances are you haven't. But Gilroy is actually the child of Rene Russo and Dan Gilroy, who have both had successful careers within the film industry themselves, both as an actress and a director.
