Following the immense success surrounding Yorgos Lanthimos' most recent movie 'Poor Things' and the four Academy Award wins that followed it, including a Best Actress win for Emma Stone, the film industry's attention has turned to what is to come next from the Greek filmmaker.
When a movie receives a smothering of success from both the box office receipts and critics within the industry, it is regular the arrival of the filmmaker's next production to take it's time. But with an official release date of June 21st, this isn't the case for Yorgos Lanthimos' 'Kinds Of Kindness'.
Although the 47-second long teaser trailer for this project refuses to reveal any information whatsoever, what we do know is that this movie is a three-part anthology film in which Lanthimos co-wrote with Efthimis Filippou, a Greek writer that Lanthimos collaborated with on 'The Lobster' and 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer'.
It has yet to be deciphered which cast members will belong to each individual part of the storyline, but at the moment we are confident in believing that they are unlikely to cross over into various sections of the movie.
Much like previous Yorgos Lanthimos projects, 'Kinds Of Kindness' features a very impressive ensemble cast. Regular faces such as Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley are set to collaborate with Lanthimos for what isn't the first time, whereas the likes of Hong Chau, Jesse Plemons and Hunter Schafer are all set to make their cinematic debut for the filmmaker.
Despite the extremely unrevealing teaser trailer at hand, the following synopsis for the movie provides quite an insight as to what fans can expect come June 21st:
A triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
